Turning Stone Resort Championship

We catch up with Aaron this week in Verona, NY at the Atunyote Golf Club at Turning Stone Resort. Aaron hasn’t played this course before and so he is very excited for the opportunity to get out there.
Dustin Johnson is the defending champion after an incredible 1 stroke win last year. He had great rounds of 72, 68, 70 and 69 to finish with a 279, just one stroke ahead of Robert Allenby.
Aaron will tee up on Thursday at 12:35pm with Dustin Johnson and Ben Curtis. I caught up with Badds to see how he was feeling….
How have you been the past few weeks? What have you been up to? For the first week I just relaxed and spent time with Shells and Jewell then the past 3 weeks I have been practicing, making improvements on my game and preparing for the Turning Stone event.
How is your practice going? What are you concentrating on? Its been going well, I have spent time with my coach, Lynchy, and we have been making some changes in my swing. I feel that it’s close to being really good. My scores have not been showing the improvements I have been making. I have also been focusing on my putting; I feel I haven’t putted that well this year.
Do you prefer playing rounds to practice or hitting the driving range? I like both, I like to play on the course hitting different shots and chipping around the greens, I also like to play with some friends and have a game. But I definitely enjoy being on the range and working on my game.
What goals have you set for yourself for the remainder of the year? I have 5 events left this year, 3 in the US and 2 in Aussie. My goals are to finish the year off strong and get some momentum for next year. In finishing the year off strong a win would be a definite goal.
How are you feeling about turning stone? Have you played the course before? I have not played the course; I have heard a lot of really good things about it so I'm looking forward to the week! I feel my game is quite good so I just need to be patient and let it happen.
How are Richelle and Jewell? Can you share a little about your experience with fatherhood with us? What is Jewell like? Richelle and Jewell are great! Jewell is growing fast and getting big! Richelle and I love being parents and Jewell is an amazing baby. She brings us so much joy. I have never seen a baby be such a people person. Everywhere we go she makes friends, she has a perma-smile. She is a very happy baby. Nothing better than to hear her laugh, makes me laugh all the time. It’s so great being dad, gives me a little idea of how God our Father loves me. It’s so amazing to come home and see her get excited and want me to hold her! I love to read to her, one of our favorites is "good night moon". Everyone tells me that it just keeps getting better, I just can’t imagine how!!
Thanks Aaron, good luck this week.
